Dr. Vered Blass
 
Co-Founder & Chairman 

 

Dr. Vered Blass is a Faculty member at the School of Management at Tel Aviv University. She was a member of Engineers Without Borders-USA since 2004 and served as a Project Manager of a 5 yrs project in Peru. She also served as the president of the EWB-USA UCSB Chapter. Returning to Israel in 2009 , she began building the national organization in Israel and serves as Chairman of the Board of EWB-Israel.

Avner Goren  
 
Co-Founder & Local Development Coordinator

 

Archaeologist, a leading member in the Kidron Valley cross-border Initiative team. Served as the chief archeologist of the Sinai Peninsula. Avner is one of the leading figures in SPNI (Society for Protecting the Nature in Israel), and a co-founder of the international Abraham Path Initiative. Today, he is working with the Milken Center of Innovation and the Jerusalem Institute of Israel Studies (Hebrew University) on creating models of developing economy based on  culture, heritage sites, and cultural landscapes.

 

In EWB Israel, Avner is in charge of the organization's involvement and activities in the Kidron Valley, as well as with other local communities. 

 

Eyal Kaplan

Technion Alumni Representative 

 

 

Eyal has been a managing general partner with Walden Israel, an early stage venture capital firm, for 20 years since its inception. In recent years, he has focused on working with, advising and mentoring profitable growth companies and investment firms in the US and Israel. Eyal has also sponsored for 12 years the Kaplan Prize at the Faculty of Education Science & Technology at the Technion. He was the Chairman of the Technion Alumni Association until 2015, served on the advisory committee of the Industrial Engineering Faculty, and an advisory task force in the faculty of Education Science & Technology. He has also been on the Boards of several Israeli non-profits, including The Movement for Quality of Government in Israel.

 

Eyal earned his B.Sc. degree at the faculty of Industrial Engineering at the Technion, an MBA 

from the Wharton School, and an M.A. in International Studies at the University of Pennsylvania.
